Brain & Memory

This section covers brain health. It is split into Memory and Focus, for nootropic and focus supplement reviews, and Cognitive Aging, for guides on memory changes that come with age.

Brain supplements often promise a lot. We check ingredients such as bacopa, citicoline, lion's mane, ginkgo and omega-3 against the doses used in human trials, note the size of any measured effect, and flag hidden stimulants, side effects and weak refund terms.

Talk to your doctor before use if you take blood thinners, antidepressants or other medication, or if memory problems are new or getting worse.

Which kinds of memory changes are a normal part of aging?

Some slowing is common with age, such as taking longer to learn new things or sometimes misplacing keys. Memory loss that disrupts daily life is not normal. Getting lost in familiar places, repeating questions, or trouble managing money should be checked by a doctor. Some causes, such as medicine side effects or low vitamin B12, can be treated.
