When should joint pain be seen by a doctor?
See a doctor if a joint is hot, red, or very swollen, if pain follows an injury, or if you also have a fever. Pain that lasts more than a few weeks or limits daily activities should also be checked. These can be signs of infection, gout, or inflammatory arthritis, which need treatment that a supplement cannot provide.
