We check each ingredient against the doses used in human studies and note when results are mixed. We flag safety notes, such as rare liver concerns with black cohosh, and we review refund policies and complaints.
Ask your doctor before use if you have a history of breast cancer, liver disease, or take hormone therapy or other medication.
Does black cohosh help with hot flashes?
Research on black cohosh for hot flashes and other menopause symptoms has been mixed, and overall it has not shown a clear benefit. There have been reports of liver problems in some people who took it, though a direct link is not proven. Stop and see a doctor if you notice signs such as yellow skin or dark urine.
